I love photography and I guess you do too...? Travel photography is my fav!!!
I am based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I am not a professional photographer. I class myself as a student of photography and I will be learning for the rest of my life.
I believe photography is for everyone and not just for those with the expensive gear.
I want to encourage people to take up photography.
Photography can mean different things to people. I think if you like your photo, then that is all that matters. It doesn't matter what you use - SLR camera, Mirrorless camera, Point and shoot camera, a Phone, Polaroid(Now, that is old!!). There are many reasons to like a photo. Maybe it is where you are or who you are with? Maybe it is of some special person(s)?
I believe in 4 things:
1. Creativity and ideas need to be encouraged and developed. You can always work on improving technique but creativity is from inside you. Great technique does not equal being creative. Creativity is not copying someone else's ideas/pictures. Listen to people whose opinion you value.
2. Use a camera/phone setup which you can afford. Most of us are on limited budgets. You will take good pictures with whatever you use.
3. The best value for money with photography is the money you put towards learning and understanding how to use your camera. Having the latest/most expensive gear doesn't make you a better photographer if you don't know how to use it.
4. Get out there and take pictures. Find an excuse to take pictures rather than looking for excuses not to. Taking pictures = experience. I find I get a little better each time... :)
Now get out there and get snapping!!!!!!
